Weekly Menu for Monday, January 28, 2013

I cannot believe that the first month of 2013 is quickly drawing to a close.  I guess that means this year is going to fly by quickly.  When I was little, I always remember January as  being one of the longest months ever-- the holidays were over, it was cold and snowy, and it was never ending.  Boy how things change the older you get!

Today I have a question for everyone: What is one kitchen gadget that you just cannot live without?  Anything goes-- high tech, low tech....I am just curious what others deem a must have in their kitchen.  Leave me a comment with your absolute favorite!


For me......mine are probably fairly low tech-- I bought a pastry mat from Pampered Chef last year that I absolutely love.  I can roll out pizza crust, noodles, cookies or knead bread dough with ease, it doesn't stick much and the clean up is a breeze (as compared to just using my counter top!).  My second favorite- a good whisk!  I use my whisk a often to mix up gravies to mixing up pudding.

Monday: Pork Chops and taters (since we didn't have pork chops like I planned last week- oops!)

Tuesday: Egg Sausage Casserole with some sort of homemade bread- maybe cinnamon swirl  bread or ?  Anyone have any good sweet bread recipes to share?

Wednesday: Turkey, dressing, corn casserole

Thursday: Swiss steak in the crockpot, mashed potatoes, peas

Friday: Burgers and fries

Saturday: Chili
