This week is suppose to be more January like here in Michigan-- meaning cold, some snow which all makes one want to hibernate! Or at least that is my feeling of January in Michigan. Since hibernation isn't something that is going to happen (someone has to get the kids up for school and cook dinner for everyone or else chaos shall ensue!) I am trying to mix things up a bit in our menu as well as try out some new recipes. I plan on trying one new one this week--- if it is a success, I will share it with everyone next week.
Monday: Cheesy taters and sausage in the crockpot
Tuesday: Meatballs and mashed potatoes
Wednesday: New crockpot chicken recipe--
Thursday: Burgers and homemade fries
Friday: Homemade Pizza
Saturday: Open to suggestions from the family......we shall see if anyone has any!
If fries are a huge hit at your house and you would like to find a healthier way serve them- check out my post on Kerry's soon to be famous fries. These fries are baked with minimal oil yet are crunchy and oh so good. My kids absolutely love them and I have had very positive feedback from all of their friends as well (some are even very picky eaters!). Give them a try and let me know what you think!
Thanks for stopping in at Country Living On A Hill, I hope you enjoyed your visit. I will be linking up with Orgjunkie and her MPM as well as on Healthy Branscom's Menu link up. Both sites are great places to get lots of ideas for your next menu.

I really like baked fries, too. We make them thick cut here and they are a favorite. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been making these for years and they are a family favorite. I have just been shocked at how much all the kid's friends love them too. I have one who asks for them every time he comes to stay and two teenage girls who fight over them when we have them when they visit. I love that!
DeleteYour recipe for Cheezy Taters and Sausage looks delicious. I'm making a sausage casserole tonight that is a family favorite. Pam
ReplyDeleteI love that it is super duper easy! Even though I no longer use canned soups and make my own substitute, this goes together very quickly.
DeleteThanks for dropping in!
I haven't made homemade fries in years!
DeleteThey are a must here....at least once a week sometimes more than once! My version is baked and doesn't use a ton of oil so they aren't terribly bad for you either!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping in.
What do you put on your homemade pizzas? We are putting ham on ours this week.
ReplyDeleteFor our youngest two-- they do just pepperoni and cheese. One does no sauce on her half. The rest of us usually have ham or pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, peppers if we have them, black or green olives. Sometimes I make a chicken pizza which is awesome with pesto for sauce, cooked chicken, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and black olives. YUM!
Deletethanks to you I've added hamburgers and homemade fries this weeks menu. My family is so grateful!
ReplyDeleteThat meal is always popular here on a hill....regardless of the season!
DeleteThanks for dropping in and I was glad I was able to give you some inspiration.
Great menu. The fries look yummy.
ReplyDeleteThey are super yummy.....it is a definite go to if I am not sure what to serve with a meal.
DeleteYour fries look great! I do baked fries most of the time and will give them a try! TFS!
ReplyDeleteYou can cut them however you wish-- thicker ones take less time to cut up. I try to mix it up some but the kids really love the thinner cut potatoes as they get nice and crispy.
DeleteThanks for stopping in.
