For the past few years I have been on a kick to make my own cleaning products. I first started it because the fumes from some of the commercial products made me sick to my stomach, gave me headaches or just plain made the bathroom stink for hours. Since I was going to make changes in my diet to eliminate some of the chemicals, why not eliminate other chemicals in the household as well.
I started using vinegar and baking soda to clean the tubs and sinks. Then I found out how to make your own lavender vinegar and I fell in love. I have tried the orange vinegar found on Pinterest but didn't find it as enjoyable as the lavender. I started making my own laundry soap a little over a year ago and now have a recipe that I really like. This past month I made some wool dryer balls which are beyond wonderful- our clothes are just as soft as when I used dryer sheets but without the chemicals and drying times have shortened even more!
Around the time I tried the wool dryer balls, I found a pin for making your own liquid fabric softener.
I knew I needed to give it a try. It was very easy to make- just water, vinegar and conditioner. Since there are so many scented conditioners on the market, you could definitely change up the scents if you wanted to as well. The verdict- I really like it. It works just as well as the commercial stuff and for very little money I was able to fill two bottles with the stuff. A huge plus in my book!
