Dreams

A Humble Bumble

After having some vivid dreams last night, I wanted to do a little bit of research on the matter.  Most sites that I found wanted to help interpret my dreams (which probably could be useful) however I just wanted some basics!  So here is some of the interesting information I found:

From Skepdic: "A dream is a mental activity that occurs during sleep."  What I like is that it is a mental activity.  I never thought of it in those terms before.

From Dream Moods: Dreams are unique to the person- which does make sense as no one else has had your experiences, thoughts, feelings, etc.  It also said that remembering dreams are very important.  Why?  Well because dreams can: reveal vital information into your secret feelings and desires, you may gain insight into knowledge, self awareness and self healing, it may guide you through a difficult decision or life struggle, and it can help you come to terms with stressful aspect of your life.

My first thought is to say that I am not sure about this.  But after reflecting on one of my dreams from last night, maybe it really is true.  In that dream I was with some old friends and we were trying to find our car.  We had a bunch of adventures in this interesting city but never did find the car.  Maybe this is my brain's way of showing my confusion and search for a job.  I cannot say that I am enjoying the search like I did in my dream but we did search out some new and interesting places and activities in my dream.  Maybe that is what I need to do?

How about you-- Do you remember your dreams?  Do you think that they help you with your problems?

Here are a few fun facts that I found regarding dreams on random history:

You cannot snore and dream at the same time.

Most of us dream every 90 minutes and the longest dreams occur in the morning.

Men's dreams are more often set outdoors and are more action oriented.  Women's dreams usually happen indoors and involve emotional encounters with people they know or care about.

    1. When I read that I had to laugh-- So now maybe I could predict when hubby is dreaming!! He doesn't snore a lot but every so often so I guess he isn't dreaming then. I agree-- I have the most vivid dreams in the morning as well. Usually just before my alarm goes off.....or in between alarms- I am a horrible snooze button hitter! :-D
