I have to admit, I do miss writing weekly craves and confession posts. But in all reality, the confessions posts would be somewhat skimpy this time of the year-- if the weather is bad then I am home. Even if the weather here in Michigan is half way decent, usually I am home because the kids take my vehicle to school. It isn't as easy to be naughty when you are stuck at home all week long- geesh! I suppose it truely isn't a bad thing as it keeps me on track but sometimes those soda cravings can be brutal!
1. Speaking of soda: Since I cannot get out as often as I used to, I find myself indulging in soda at every single opportunity that I can. Which translates to- if I run to the store, or am out and about, the soda is calling me! It doesn't help that McDonald's has $1 drinks, no matter the size. So of course I must get a large one (why waste the money on something smaller?) So I have indulged several times.....when I go to get groceries, when I run to Costco and Aldi's, when hubby and I go out and wander. Get me that soda and get it for me NOW!
2. Eating out: For some reason, I have been giving in to the let's just go and get something urge lately. Call it laziness or lack of inspiration in the kitchen-- all of these play a factor in these urges. So we have eaten pizza and subs out in January. When I have been out and about, I have run through the drivethru and ordered burgers or chicken sandwiches along with my lovely soda. It is a definite treat for the kids because we rarely eat out, hopefully they are enjoying it because hopefully it will soon end!
3. Forgetting to eat: Yes I could probably miss a few meals (I am over weight) and yes I know the importance of eating breakfast (or any meal) so I don't become over hungry. My problem lately has been sitting around in the morning during which I lose track of time surfing on the internet. Once I realize how much time I have wasted, I try to quickly get moving to get things done. Which usually means that I just completely forget to eat. This leads to many issues but the biggest one is grabbing whatever I can find and eating it-- meaning things like sugary cereal, chips, and other super processed foods. Usually I have very little interst in these things but once it hits 12:30 and I haven't eaten anything yet (and I usually wake up around 6 am) then I just grab what ever I can. I really need to get back into the routine of getting up and showering before I get the kids up in the morning-- I end up accomplishing so much more during the day.
