Confessions for 2012

I thought about doing a favorite confessions post like I did the craves or maybe a most popular confessions post like I did earlier this week.  But let's be honest-- anyone who reads my confessions even only occasionally will know that my biggest obstacle is always soda and candy!  Sigh.  I am definitely sure that I will continue on with these vices in 2013.

So what do I wish I could have done differently in 2012?  Well.....

1. Exercise More: With foot/ankle/achilles tendon issues from March until December, it sure wasn't a year that I made all my exercise goals.  I still am unable to walk very well, forget running!  I would like to start doing yoga again and build up my calf muscles so I can walk longer/faster/better.  I think I will try to focus on those for 2013.

2. Gardening, Canning, Preserving: The garden was planted in good time and we did have a lot of variety.  What we didn't count on was the long stretches of extreme hot, dry weather that we had.  The garden just did not produce much at all this year.  Which really affected how much canning we were able to do.  Add in that I had to be off my foot for 6 weeks and canning was difficult.  I am hoping that 2013 will be a good year for fruit, berries and garden crops.  I have a lot to make up for.

3.  Finding a Job: Well I had absolutely no luck finding a job this year.  Okay, I didn't really start looking until this fall but.......after actually making it to the interview process, I had high hopes that maybe things were turning around.  It hasn't happened yet however I am not giving up yet.  I am also thinking of some other ventures for 2013.  Anyone need help with PR for their blog?

4. Processed foods: I did okay in this.  The candy will always get me.  I just cannot seem to give that up.  The soda will also always be a vice.  I have however cut out all cream soups from my cooking.  I rarely make cake or brownies from a box anymore.  I have learned to make some creative side dishes instead of relying on the bags/boxes that are on the shelves.  Slowly we are making the transition!

So what will 2013 bring?  It is hard for me to judge.  I certainly never envisioned having surgery on my foot in 2012.  So.......Here's to hoping for health and prosperity in 2013 for Country Living On A Hill....and to all my followers!
