Weekly Menu for November 19, 2012

It is almost here-- that wonderfully magical meal of the year.....Thanksgiving!   I know, I know...one can have turkey anytime and it is true.  I guess I feel that at Thanksgiving I can actually eat until I am over stuffed, just this once, and not feel guilty about it.  What do you think?  Do you feel the same?

I am trying to keep the rest of the week different from the heavy meal we will have on Thursday.  I am not sure how successful I will be at that but we shall see.  I do have a new recipe I am going to try this week plus some old favorites that we haven't had in quite awhile.

Weekly Menu for November 19, 2012

Monday: Chili in the crockpot: I promised hubby some chili this week.  It was on our menu for last week but I had already made one dinner the younger kids didn't like and I hated to throw another at them right after.  So instead of chili last week, we had burgers.  I have to make sure to actually get chili in this week.

Tuesday: Chicken Spaghetti: This is our new recipe.  If it tastes as good as the recipe looks, I will make sure to post it.  I am hoping Miss BB will at least try this.

Wednesday: Fish tacos: We haven't had these since just after I had foot surgery and my mom made them.  It is one of Miss BB's absolute favorite plus a great way to make just a little bit of fish go a long way!  I will make some coleslaw with a little taco seasoning to go on top as well.  Yum!

Thursday: Thanksgiving: My contribution to dinner will be corn casserole which is a favorite for my side of the family.  We will be eating with hubby's side plus having Christmas directly after dinner.

Friday: Egg Sausage Casserole with homemade cinnamon biscuits

Saturday: Hot venison sandwiches and fries: Since this went out the door last week, I will attempt to get it back on the plan again this week.

Sunday: I just don't know yet.  For some reason I just feel out of it and I am not sure what to plan for this meal.  I think I need to start looking for some new recipes to just bring some change into our menu. I am starting to get the blahs!

There you have it.  The weekly menu for here on a hill.  What are your meal plan for this week?  If you are looking for some inspiration head over to Meal Plan Monday at Orgjunkie and Menu Monday at Healthy Branscoms!  Gobble, Gobble everyone.

    1. Thank you for hosting an awesome link up! :-)

My mom invented that. She isn't much of a cook but on occasion she has good ideas. It just gives it some zing for the fish tacos. I guess you could do the same with some chili powder and cumin as well.

  2. I love fish tacos but I only ever get them at restaurants. I should try making them at home! :)

    1. Me too! Until my mom decided to try making them at home and got Miss BB hooked on them. I figured since we all love fish that everyone else would like them too and they do. This way I can make a little bit of fish go a long way!

Thanks for dropping in :-). I hope you have a great week!

    1. I did make chili last night, however I skipped the crockpot. I ended up making lunch for my grandma and then visiting with her for over 3 hours! Thankfully I had some canned venison so I got the chili simmering as soon as I grabbed the kids from school. It was still pretty good. I just wish everyone would eat it. My youngest two hate it so just the oldest child eats it. It always means figuring out something for them too.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment-- I love hearing from everyone!
