It's Friday, it's Friday, it's Friday!! Honestly though, yesterday felt like Saturday because my kids didn't have school Thursday or Friday this week- teacher professional improvement days strategically placed right after Halloween. Sneaky teachers! So we are having a super long weekend here (that extra hour makes it extra long :-))!
I am hoping to get my Halloween decorations down this weekend and to find my fall/Thanksgiving decorations. I think they are buried under Christmas decorations which means some digging and moving things around. I am hopeful that either SJ or hubby will help me out.
Let's get to the questions! As always, I will be linking up with My Little Life.
1. What terrifies you the most? Snakes, my overactive imagination, snakes, not having enough money to pay all the bills, snakes.... :-)
2. Favorite fall/winter drink? I just started drinking coffee about 4 years ago. I love good flavored coffee with just some half and half or some plain coffee with some awesome flavored creamer. McDonald's Carmel Mocha is really good...plus Meijer Gas Stations have a Pumpkin Pie Latte that is like drinking liquid pumpkin pie- oh yum! This year I want to make some hot chocolate from scratch- meaning milk, sugar, cocoa, etc to see if I can come up with a really good hot chocolate. Honestly the only hot drink I don't care for is tea. Mr. H is our tea expert here and loved it!
3. Do you and your spouse have the same political views? For most everything we do. We different somewhat on the finer points occasionally. I guess we really don't have a ton of political conversations. I have to honestly say that we sound like that little girl who was tired of "Bronco Bama and Mitt Romney". We are also tired of listening to all the negative ads about all our proposals here in Michigan. BLAH!
4. What was the last book you read? Was it any good? The last book I read that I really enjoyed was Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber- an older book as there is already a television movie made on it. I wanted something quick and easy to read and I have enjoyed all of Debbie Macomber's books. The last newer book that I read and loved was A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I want to read the next book in the series but it is only out in hardcover and I hate to pay over $20 for a book. A Discovery of Witches was very good....it was a great October read!
5. Do you look forward to the snow each winter? Why or why not? Here is the deal with me and snow. We must have snow for December....it is what gets me in the Christmas mood. It is when the world looks so beautiful then with the white snow while listening to Christmas music. Once we ring in the New Year the snow can go away and the 60 degree temperature can come back. Sure the snow is sometimes pretty later in the season too but I just cannot handle the cold anymore. I am pretty sure I might turn into an ice cube this winter. We have had a couple days in the 40's and I have been all bundled up plus huddled under a blanket. Not sure what I am going to do when it is below zero!
Great questions this week! I had a lot of fun answering them. What about you? Are you a snow lover? Better yet, what is the last good book that you have read? I am always searching for good books to read- let me know!
Happy Friday and here's to an awesome weekend.

Oh how I wish I had time to read. But if I did, I probably wouldn't actually read...I would most likely try to clean up the mess in my house! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour answer about the snow seems like the general consensus for people who get snow. You all love it for a few weeks and then want it gone. I think I'll just stay here where it doesn't snow. I couldn't deal with all that mess!
Happy Friday!
I am not sure I could live without reading. Even when my kids were very young...I found some time to read even if it was just before bed. My daughter complains I read too much...it is kind of funny. She tells me to watch tv instead!
DeleteWe lived in Florida for 14 months and the only time I missed snow was during December. It sure is hard getting in the Christmas Spirit without it. We had to last year here in Michigan as we didn't get much snow all winter long.
Thanks for stopping by!
I read nearly every night before bed. And I'm like you- can't pay $20 for a new book! My local library, PaperbackSwap, and getting free books for review are enough to keep me pretty well stocked with reading material.
ReplyDeleteI love the Mc Caramel Mochas, too! :)
My 5 Question Friday answers are posted HERE @ Tiny Blessings if you'd like to stop by and take a peek! :)
Hi Amy-- I stopped by and left you a comment as well. Thanks so much for dropping in!
DeleteI wish my local libraries were better stocked...both are tiny and just don't have much of a selection so I tend to not even bother stopping in. I have found some really good books at Goodwill for 99 cents. That helps. I participated at Swap.com for about 1-1/2 and loved it. Towards the end I had issues getting books delivered in a timely manner and there were very few swaps available to me so I decided to let it go for awhile. Now they have changed management and bombard me with emails constantly. UGH.
I love Debbie Macomber and I will have to look for Mrs Miracle because I have not read it yet. I loved her Good Yarns book.
ReplyDeleteI love her series on Cedar Cove too-- Mrs. Miracle was very good and easy read.
DeleteThanks for stopping by.
