Weekly Menu for October 22, 2012

This week we are back to our regularly scheduled program.  Birthdays are done.  Anniversaries have been celebrated....just a few days late.  I had an awesome time hanging out with some girlfriends.  Now life is back to normal and my blogging posts will be back to normal as well.

The easy thing about having so many birthdays in one week is that menu planning was easy- just ask the birthday person what they wanted.  The bad part- the grocery bill!  Birthday meals always end up being something special- which is what birthday meals are all about.  My grocery budget however suffered greatly.  So for now-- we are going back to basics!

Weekly Menu for October 22, 2012

Monday: Chicken Chili Chimis: I made chicken chili on Friday night.  We have a lot left and I was looking for a creative way to switch things up.  Instead of just having chili again, I figured if I drained then chili and then made them into chimi's.  My children love chimis so honestly, it is a sneaky way to get the chili into them!

Tuesday: Spaghetti: SJ and I have doctor appts on Tuesday and then he has a whole lot of birthday money burning a hole in his pocket....which means we will go shopping after the doctor appts.  I need something quick and easy!

Wednesday: Crispy skin chicken, roasted taters and squash

Thursday: egg sausage casserole and cinnamon rolls : Miss BB also has some birthday money burning a hole in her pocket and I have promised her a day to go shopping as well.  She picked today....which means I need something quick and easy.

Friday: Homemade Pizza

Saturday: chicken and homemade noodles

Sunday: Shepherd's pie

Linking up with MPM.  Happy Monday!

  2. Lynn- thanks so much for stopping in. Thankfully we are done with birthdays for a bit now :-)...two in one week makes for a stressed out mom. I love to do special things for my kids-- but when you have to go and buy several pounds of shrimp to feed everyone and then find corned beef in October (when it definitely is not on sale!)....yeah it throws the entire grocery budget into a spiral.
