Are you like me? Are there some things that just make you go hmmmm, why would someone act like this? Why do we do things like this? And then you obsess about it for what seems like forever? That is the part that can drive me nuts! Last night hubby and I had one of those conversations. I thought that maybe if I write about it, it can go out of my head for awhile.
So here are a few things that make me go hmmmm-- please let me know your stand. I am not judging anyone, I am honestly just trying to figure out why people act the way they do.
I know a family where the mom is a stay at home mom. However, when ever the kids are sick, she makes her husband stay home too. This isn't a once or twice a year thing. This is once every other month, sometimes once a month during the winter. Now I get that it can be hard to deal with sick kids (I have three just like they do) but I never asked my husband to stay home to help out when they were sick. I just learned to juggle everything, take care of everyone. This is one of the reasons I loved being a stay at home mom-- when the kids were sick, I was there to deal with it. I can remember calling my husband once to come home-- when I was pregnant with my last one. I was so sick that I couldn't sit up without the entire room spinning like crazy. I begged him to come home. Otherwise, regardless of what I had or what the kids had, I dealt with the kids singlehandedly. Not to say that I didn't love having him home in the evenings to help--- or so I could go hide in the bathroom! So what do you think?? Do you make your significant other stay home when your kids are sick, every time?
Why is it that we usually only voice our opinion when we are unhappy? Why don't we also praise when we have good service? When someone is especially helpful and nice? Recently my mom had a medical procedure done and received a survey in the mail. She commented that she had such excellent service and that everyone was so caring and nice that she felt really cared for. The head of community relations actually called her to thank her for the feedback and told her that they would definitely be sharing it with the center. This made me think that maybe we should make it a priority to let people know when we get really good service or when they have done an outstanding job for us. I think it's great to be able to tell people how awesome they are vs having to complain about the service we didn't get.
So what are some things that make you go hmmmmm?
Thanks for stopping by the hill, I hope you stop by again soon.
