It's Friday again, yipee! Not that it means quite as much now that it is summer. But hubby is home which is always a huge plus in my book. I get to go out with my friends this evening- I am so excited to spend some time with my girlfriends from high school.
Saturday is a very busy day. My oldest plays on the varsity baseball team for his school. They won districts last Saturday (which was huge. The last time the school won districts was in 1973!) and this weekend they are playing regionals. If they win this weekend, then it's on to state semi finals and so on. So we will be out cheering Mr. H and his team on, hopefully to victory!
Since today is Friday, that means 5 question Friday and here are today's questions. Remember to head over to My Little Life to see everyone else's answers too!
1. Did you do anything special for your kids on the last day of school? Or did you parents do anything special for you? Grandma always takes the kids out to lunch on their last day of school (which is always a half day). This year we headed out to Applebee's for lunch. Afterward we had to run to the Dollar Store so the younger two picked a couple of things out.
2. What's your favorite summer tradition with your children? Just hanging out and enjoying the sun, warm weather, etc. I guess we really don't have one tradition that we have to do each year. hmmm.
3. What was your favorite thing to do during the summer as a kid? When I was younger, play outside. When I was older, I loved biking to the library, stocking up with a bunch of books and reading until super late into the night. I loved how the air cooled down, it would be super quiet out and I would be there lost in a book.
4. How old were you when you were married? Were you a Bridezilla? I was 21 when I got married. I definitely was not a bridezilla. All I really wanted was to get married to my love. I didn't really care what happened....which is probably good because we lost the hall we wanted to have our reception at, the day of our wedding it rained so we couldn't use the car we had planned on, then the hall we did have our reception at flooded near the doorway. It was super foggy when we left our reception and it took us awhile to get to the hotel we were staying at. But we were married, that was all that mattered to me! Almost 19 years later and we are still happily married!
5. What is your favorite girl name? Hmm.. I am not sure that I really have a favorite girl name. I had always liked Tory and Molly but those names were nixed by hubby when I was pregnant with our girl. I do like her name-- Bayleigh, although on occasion she complains about it (but then I think we all at some point dislike our names). But I cannot say that there is one name that I just absolutely adore.
Those questions sure got me even more into the summer mood! As I am typing this the neighbor is mowing his yard, the kids are yelling and playing, a dog is barking and a nice breeze is blowing in. Can't ask for anything better!
I hope everyone has a great weekend, thanks for dropping by here on the hill.

I loved the name Molly too! But...I thought I was only going to have boys, so we named our dog Molly. And then my good friend named her daughter Molly....so I'm nixed on that one. :)
ReplyDeleteI got married young at 19 but this year will be our ten year anniversary. Looking forward to our anniversary cruise :)
ReplyDeleteSandy-- I loved the name Boston for a boy but hubby refused to even think about that one, so we named our first cat Boston.
ReplyDeleteKC-- for our 20th anniversary hubby and I are going to Disney World all by ourselves! We are really excited. For our 10th we had 3 small kids at home and couldn't get away but this time we most definitely are.
