Sunday Confessions for the week of 3/25/12
April here we are! Please bring us some beautiful flowers, green leaves and warm temperatures- please?
I stuck pretty close to home this week and stayed home most days as well. That doesn't mean that I had a guilt free week though. I do feel as though maybe (just maybe) I am getting a little bit better. I still need to make myself exercise more. Definitely.
1. Not Enough Exercise: Even though I admitted up there that I still need to make myself exercise I am going to call myself out on this again! Maybe then it will make me get moving more. I know once we have the garden and my perennials are growing that I can add some weeding to my exercising done. But that time is still a couple of months from happening.
2. Sour Patch Jelly Beans: Definitely not a health food. Definitely a processed food. Definitely yummy!
3. Black Cherry Faygo Soda: When I drank this it brought back so many memories-- really good memories! When I was pregnant with our youngest (something like 10 years ago, geesh where does the time go?), I would go grocery shopping twice a month. These trips were my time. I was a stay at home mom with a 6 year old and a 2-1/2 year old. I always went grocery shopping when my husband was home so that I could just go, take my time and somewhat relax with no kids. I had about a 20 minute drive back home so once I was done grocery shopping I would stop at the gas station and buy a black cherry faygo soda. That was my treat for the night and for my relaxing drive home. These are the memories I had while drinking my soda this week. Sometimes splurges are so worth it.
4. Cherry Coke: I ran to the dollar store and grabbed one. Yum! I really need to find something to replace soda though. I just love it so much.
5. Spiced jelly beans: Yep, it is that time of the year-- time for jelly beans! I love Jelly Belly's but they are so expensive. So instead I bought some Brock's Spice Jelly Beans. Really they aren't too bad. Definitely not all the yummy Jelly Belly flavors but for $1, they are pretty good. Last year I actually bought some jelly beans at Trader Joe's. Those were awesome and I wish we had a Trader Joe's closer to us- with gas prices like they are, I cannot afford to drive 2-1/2 hours to visit Trader Joe's.
I think I deserve a couple of gold stars for the week.....I did fairly well. I really stayed away from most processed food other than the soda and jelly beans. Why is this impressive? Well because we have had 2 baseball games to attend, I didn't feel well on Wednesday and yet I didn't fall back to anything quick and easy those nights. Plus I really did not plan well for this week's meals either. I basically forgot about the games, which is not a good thing. But I worked through it. Now I do need to think ahead and plan ahead though for these crazy days. Anyone have some good dinners that can be made ahead of time and frozen? I have never done this before but I think it would be a great help this year, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for visiting me here on the hill, I hope you stop by again soon!

I know... jelly beans are good (and addicting). But good job on the "gold stars" this week! It sounds like you're making progress to meet your goals. :) And while I don't yet cook meals for a family/know about freezing them, I have baked pretzels and frozen them to rebake. The recipe is on my blog. They're a good meal, aren't they? ;)
