Craves for April 14, 2012

Welcome to my weekly craves.  It has been quite a week....I turned 40 on Thursday.  I think I am finally at peace with it :-)!  But it also meant that my diet has suffered some but more on that tomorrow.  Hopefully I won't pay for it.  Usually when I decide to splurge I end up in a flare.  Since I had one last weekend, I am hoping that I don't spiral into another one.

So, what are your craves for the week?  What has been enjoyed in your household this week?  Let me know what you are enjoying, I love to hear from my readers.

1. Spring Rain: Friday afternoon we stopped for lunch.  While we were eating it began raining.  We started back on the road with the windows cracked just a bit.....ahhh the smell.  That wonderful fresh spring rain smell.  Fresh, sweet and wonderful.  Ahhhh!

2. Salmon: For my birthday dinner I bought some nice salmon fillets.  We had big salads with lots of toppings (think real bacon bits, eggs, cukes, tomtatoes, peppers, etc).  The salmon was wonderful.  I just threw it in the oven with a little bit of Old Bay seasoning and dill weed.

3. Fish Tacos: My mom took me out for lunch on my birthday.  We decided to go with mexican food and I got fish tacos.  I always forget how much I love those things with the cabbage, a zesty sauce and fish.  I really need to give them a try at home, cause I think they would be even more awesome!

4. Sight Seeing: I forget how much I love history and visiting historical places.  I am so thankful that my kids love it as well-- cause even though they don't realize it, they are learning!  This weekend my hubby and I snuck out on our own, without the kids, but I still know that they will enjoy looking at all our photos and brochures.  And they might even learn a bit more while they are at it.

5. Freshly Cut Grass, Blue Skies and Puffy White Clouds: I had the opportunity to mow our yard again this past week.  Even though it was quite chilly and my hands were frozen at the end, it is the perfect time for me to just let my mind wander.  I enjoy the view, the smell of freshly cut grass and soak up some sun.  This week the sky was a glorious blue with white puffy clouds floating by.  I promise to take some pictures of our hill once the leaves come it.

So there you have my craves for the week.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting me here on the hill.  I hope you stop by again soon.

  3. I think I have survived my entrance into the 40's. Now I think I will be fine-- it was just that first day, phew!

Fish tacos are yummy. I had them for the first time a few years ago. Yum
