Living With Fibro Tuesdays

My kids had the day off on Monday for a winter break.  After 2 weeks of illness around the house what I was really looking for was a long weekend away from all those germs!

My youngest son decided he wanted to go to work with dad and my oldest son went off to stay the night with some friends.  My daughter still had a gift card left over from Christmas and a valentine coupon for a free Krispie Cream Donut that she really wanted to use.

It was a perfect day for the two of us girls to go off and go shopping.  The sun was out and the roads were clear.  We wandered around a couple of malls, went out for lunch together, stopped for her donut and had a lot of fun.  I always forget how much I enjoy my children-- their personalities, little quirks, sense of humor and how much fun it is to spend time with them.

This is my crazy girl last fall just after the homecoming parade.

During the day to day grind at home, I am usually focused on getting household chores done, getting food prepared and just trying to live each and every day.  Sometimes we focus so much on trying to live our life that we forget how much fun a day off can be.  It can recharge your soul, recharge your body, recharge your outlook on life and make going back to the old routine a little easier.

Who knows what tomorrow might bring-- today was an awesome day!

  1. I enjoy date days with my kids too. As they get older, and create lives of their own it gets harder and harder to find time with them. Sounds like a lovely day off.

  4. Sounds like you had a really nice time together! We used to take turns spending time with each of our 3 children individually but have gotten out of that routine somehow. Thanks for the reminder to get back to it!
