It's Leap Day- Surprise Guest Post

We finally made it to the end of February and it is leap day to boot!  I tried to explain leap day to my 9 year old son and he just looked at me with the "I don't really care" look.  Apparently it is just another day to him.  But I have been hearing about how leap day is suppose to be the day for unexpected things.  Women can ask men to marry them on leap day (which probably isn't as big now as it was 100 years ago).

With that in mind, I have a guest post for the day.  One that you would not expect because it is written by my pug.  No I am not losing my mind but I thought I would have some fun on this rare day.  I hope you enjoy!

Guest Post by Tinker Belle (Clarabelle Tinker Brynn Fountain):

Thank you for reading my post today.  I have much to tell all of you since the human mom that I live with hasn't talked enough about me on this blog thing.  I know she told you about that dog that lives with us, Cosmo (people think I am a dog but I am definitely not a dog) but I cannot understand why she hasn't devoted her entire blog about me.

First thing you need to know is that I am a princess.  I dislike mornings, screechy girls, cold weather, getting my toe nails clipped and anyone that bugs me or touches me.  Things that I love - food, especially people food, going for rides in the car so I can bark, going for walks and sunbathing.

My day consists of sleeping until about noon.  Then I hope that the sun is out so I can get some good sunbathing in.  I might grab a bite to eat after my humans eat lunch.  I usually have to beg an awful lot and sometimes it just isn't worth the energy.  After an afternoon of sunbathing those human kids come home which means that I have people trying to pet me and give me some love which drives me nuts.  It also means that it is a great time to bark at the window at what is going on outside.  This is when I get my exercise for the day.  I like the wrap the day up fairly early and get to bed by 6 unless something fun is going on in the house.  Then I might stay up till 7.

I had some big disappointment this past weekend.  Those humans told me that they were going to buy me a necklace.  I was so excited, hoping to get some diamonds, rubies, emeralds or even pearls would have been great.  Instead they bring home this hideous red choker necklace with this black plastic charm.  When I go outside it beeps when I get close to the camper, which scares me.  If I go any further I get this zap.  What in the world?  It really hasn't slowed me down too much though.  When you have to chase the neighborhood dogs or find a good bathroom spot, what is a little zap?  The humans say I need more training, I think I just need a new necklace.  This one stinks!  It is not flashy enough and I prefer a long necklace that isn't so tight.

Well this has been exhausting.  I really need to get back to sleep.  There is no sun today so I will have to find a warm blanket to curl up in. ZZZZZZZ.

  1. LOL! We need more posts from the four legged family members. I love your little pug baby. You described her perfectly, I don't know a pug that isn't a princess :) So sorry to hear that she had to be on an electric collar, but I get it. I have a dog on one too, he just can't seem to stay home. He is a little deranged, he doesn't really know what it is like to be homeless and having to find your own food.

  2. Thanks! Well poor Tink loves to be outside when the kids are. I am a nervous nelly with her though. She is microchipped but I don't trust one of our neighbors at all. So our thought was if we could let her out to wander with the knowledge that the collar would remind her of her boundries. This hasn't happened though. We watched her walk through it again last night. She is scared when she is with us but when she is alone apparently her urges are strong enough to ignore the beeping. **sigh** I guess I stay on pug patrol!
